Crociere: le sfide di un settore strategico
Un settore fondamentale nell’economia europea e in crescita che, però, nel lungo termine potrebbe subire una battuta d’arresto se non si risolvono alcune importanti questioni strutturali. Così, Pierfrancesco Vago, presidente di Clia Europe, ha parlato ad Amburgo durante la sessione di apertura di Seatrade Europe, evento dedicato al mercato crocieristico in Europa.
“La crescita della crocieristica in Europa – ha spiegato – è rallentata rispetto agli anni precedenti. Se da un lato l’andamento a lungo termine rimane positivo, il futuro potrebbe essere più sereno. Se vogliamo assicurare che la crocieristica continui a contribuire in maniera solida all’economia europea, occorre affrontare i numerosi vincoli critici che stanno colpendo l’ulteriore crescita del settore”.
Lo scorso anno il settore ha continuato a crescere, realizzando 350.000 posti di lavoro, 10.000 in più rispetto all’anno precedente:”29 delle 31 navi da crociere per le rotte oceaniche previste per il 2018 saranno costruite nei cantieri europei”, ha spiegato ancora Vago.
Restano però problematiche che col tempo potrebbero trasformarsi in pericolosi vincoli come lo sviluppo insoddisfacente delle infrastrutture portuali, la politica dei visti verso le destinazioni europee o l’applicazione della legislazione Ue in materia ambientale.
“Molti porti in Europa – ha sottolineato il presidente di Clia Europe – fanno fatica a stare al passo con la rapida crescita della crocieristica. Lo sviluppo e l’aggiornamento delle infrastrutture in tutta Europa è un investimento necessario che consentirebbe nuove rotte e destinazioni e aumenterebbe ulteriormente il contributo economico del settore a terra. Inoltre, dobbiamo assicurarci che una quantità maggiore di porti europei abbia le strutture adeguate per consentire alle navi da crociere di scaricare le acque reflue a terra”.
