Leonardo consegna al Qatar i primi due elicotteri NFH del programma NH90
Leonardo ha consegnato alla forza aerea del Qatar i primi due elicotteri navali NFH che fanno parte di una commessa siglata nel 2018 per l’acquisto di 28 elicotteri medi bimotore multiruolo NH90, per un valore complessivo di oltre tre miliardi di euro. Nel dettaglio l’ordine comprende 16 NH90 TTH per operazioni terrestri e 12 NH90 NFH per missioni navali, oltre ad un pacchetto completo di supporto, manutenzione, addestramento e infrastrutture. Il programma potrebbe essere ulteriormente ampliato in futuro con l’aggiunta di altre 12 unità (6 TTH + 6 NFH).
L’evento fa seguito alla consegna del primo elicottero in versione TTH per impieghi terrestri, avvenuta nel dicembre 2021 presso lo stabilimento Airbus Helicopters di Marignane in Francia, al quale si è più recentemente aggiunto anche il secondo TTH. Il primo NFH navale era stato presentato pubblicamente per la prima volta nel corso del National Day del Qatar il 18 dicembre.
Leonardo agisce in qualità di prime contractor con responsabilità per la gestione del programma, l’assemblaggio finale e la consegna dei 12 elicotteri NH90 NFH dalla sua struttura di Venezia – Tessera, la fornitura di un completo pacchetto di supporto, simulatori, sistemi e servizi di addestramento per equipaggi e tecnici addetti alla manutenzione. Leonardo inoltre fornisce, contribuisce o sostiene l’integrazione di diversi equipaggiamenti, sistemi avionici e sensori tra cui il suo sistema elettro-ottico LEOSS-T HD, sistemi video e di identificazione, display HD per le consolle di missione installate in cabina. Airbus Helicopters è responsabile dell’assemblaggio finale dei 16 NH90 TTH. Le consegne continueranno fino al 2025.
