Daf lancia il nuovo motore Paccard Euro6
Una nuova generazione di motori sviluppati in conformità con la nuova normativa sulle emissioni Euro 6 che entrerà in vigore nell’Unione Europea il 1° gennaio 2014. La sta lanciando DAF Trucks attraverso il motore PACCAR MX-13 Euro 6 da 12,9 litri, che utilizza una tecnologia common rail di ultima genrerazione, un turbo a geometria variabile e comandi avanzati. Per adeguarsi ai rigidi requisiti sulle emissioni Euro 6, è dotato di ricircolo dei gas di scarico, di tecnologia SCR e di filtro antiparticolato attivo. “Il motore PACCAR MX-13 è ultrapulito”, afferma Ron Borsboom, membro del Consiglio di amministrazione di DAF Trucks e responsabile dello sviluppo dei prodotti. “Inoltre, abbiamo fatto ogni sforzo per diventare leader del settore per quanto riguarda efficienza nei consumi, affidabilità e sostenibilità”. Oltre che ottenere la giusta miscela di gas di scarico, “lo scopo è quello di creare una temperatura ottimale nel filtro, in modo da rigenerare i particolati raccolti – insiste Borsboom – Il punto di partenza è quello di consentire la maggior rigenerazione passiva possibile, facendo in modo che il motore crei le circostanze ideali perché ciò accada”. È questo il motivo per cui il collettore di scarico, insieme alla maggior parte dei componenti essenziali del sistema di scarico, sono stati incapsulati. Se, tuttavia, la temperatura dei gas di scarico si abbassa eccessivamente in qualsiasi situazione, il motore passa alla rigenerazione attiva. Il motore PACCAR MX-13 è caratterizzato dalla combinazione di tecnologie consolidatee all’avanguardia e da numerose innovazioni tecniche. “Il blocco è stato riprogettato per ottenere maggiore resistenza e, come la testata, è fatto di ghisa a grafite compatta”,spiega Borsboom. “Nell’ottica di assicurare il massimo livello di affidabilità e durata, è stato integrato il maggior numero di funzioni. Ad esempio, le tubazioni sono state sistemate nel monoblocco e nella testata, mentre i due gruppi pompa che generano la pressione nel sistema common rail sono stati integrati nel blocco in modo da venire azionati dallo stesso albero a camme che comanda le valvolelo scopo è quello di creare una temperatura ottimale nel filtro, in modo da rigenerare i particolati raccolti”.
