Boeing: UPS ordina diciannove B767 Freighters
Nuovo ordine per Boeing. La società ha infatti annunciato un accordo con UPS per diciannove B767 Freighters che saranno appunto utilizzati per potenziare la flotta di aerei cargo.
“Il 767 è il modello più versatile che usiamo – ha sottolineato il presidente di UPS U.S. Operations, Nando Cesarone -. Il nostro progetto di acquisire 19 aerei cargo che saranno consegnati tra il 2023 e il 2025 si allinea con la strategia e le previsioni di spesa in conto capitale condivise durante il nostro Investor and Analyst Day del giugno 2021. Supporta anche i nostri sforzi di sostenibilità rendendo la nostra flotta più efficiente e migliorando l’affidabilità”.
Il 2021 è stato un anno record per Boeing per quanto riguarda la vendita di velivoli cargo: ne sono stati infatti ordinati 80 nuovi mentre altrettanti sono stati gli ordini per i Converted Freighter.
La società statunitense prevede una crescita annuale del 4% della domanda di trasporto aereo delle merci, in termini di tonnellate per chilometri, per i prossimi vent’anni. La flotta cargo globale dovrebbe aumentare del 70% entro il 2024.
