Icao: Security Conference a Kuala Lumpur
Al termine di due giorni di incontri, 11 e 12 gennaio, a Kuala Lumpur, nell’ambito della Kuala Lumpur Security Conference, quattordici Stati dell’area Asia/Pacifico hanno adottato una strategia globale per l’aumento sistematico della sicurezza (security) dei passeggeri e delle merci aeree all’interno della stessa area. Ne ha dato notizia l’International Civil Aviation Organization (Icao) sottolineando che questa strategia rientra nelle iniziative condotte nel mondo intero per contrastare le nuove ed emergenti minacce al trasporto aereo. I partecipanti al meeting hanno convenuto che le azioni collettive da condurre contro queste minacce devono comprendere: assistenza agli Stati per creare e rafforzare i loro sistemi di “national security”; rendere più stretta la collaborazione con le autorità di controllo delle dogane e delle frontiere, oltre che con altri enti, al fine di rafforzare per l’air cargo la catena di fornitura a livello mondiale: incremento di misure di “security” sostenibili per agevolare al massimo sicurezza ai passeggeri e merci aeree.La Kuala Lumpur Security Conference è stata il quarto di una serie di eventi mirati a promuovere l’attuazione di una Icao Declaration on Aviation Security dopo i meeting di New Delhi, Dakar (Senegal) e Mosca che si sono tenuti l’anno scorso. A seguire sono previste altre due Security Conferences regionali: una in Venezuela a febbraio ed un’altra in Medio Oriente ad aprile.
