Michelin per la sicurezza stradale: 3500 visitatori al Villaggio itinerante
Record di presenze a quota 3.500 con 1.100 partecipanti al Bike ride ed oltre settecento persone che si sono sottoposti al test dell’etilometro e alla prova con gli occhiali distorcenti. Questi i numeri registrati alla tappa di apertura del Villaggio Michelin per la sicurezza stradale, iniziativa itinerante che ha preso il via ieri da piazza Concordia a Salerno. Il Villaggio, allestito con il patrocinio del Comune di Salerno e di Salerno Mobilità, ha impegnato i bimbi dai 2 ai 11 anni in una serie di attività ludiche e sportive volte ad educare alla corretta guida e ad insegnare il significato dei principali cartelli stradali.
“In questo modo – ha spiegato Luca Cascone, assessore comunale alla Mobilità – è possibile avviare una formazione virtuosa partendo dai più piccoli. Il comune di Salerno è in prima linea nella promozione della sicurezza stradale, attraverso un’attività preventiva e repressiva, e l’iniziativa di oggi conferma l’interesse di questa città per una mobilità sicura e sempre più ecosostenibile”. Le biciclette sono state al centro dell’iniziativa con tre sessioni di ‘bike ride’, precedute da alcune lezioni teoriche sulla segnaletica e sulle norme di sicurezza. Per i piccoli dai 2 ai 4 anni è stato allestito invece un baby corner per attività ludiche e pratiche sportive. All’interno del villaggio spazio anche per la Polizia di Stato che con il suo stand ha dato la possibilità ai giovani di conoscere i veri pericoli della strada.
“Ogni sabato ritiriamo circa 9-10 patenti per la guida in stato di ebbrezza – ha spiegato Antonio De Somma, ispettore di polizia – ma gia’ da qualche tempo abbiamo notato una inversione di rotta con i giovani sempre più consapevoli dei possibili rischi che si corrono se si decide di guidare dopo aver assunto alcol. Inoltre la patente a punti ed i limiti per i neopatentati rappresentano un ottimo deterrente a favore della sicurezza stradale”.
Dai dispositivi di controllo elettronico della velocità, a quelli per la difesa personale, e ancora ai rilevatori di microchip per animali, nell’area espositiva della polizia Municipale c’è stato spazio anche per un percorso con speciali occhiali a lenti distorcenti: indossando gli occhiali che simulano lo stato di ebbrezza, i genitori e i ragazzi più grandi hanno seguito un percorso a piedi con ostacoli rendendosi conto degli effetti che può avere l’alcol sull’organismo. Grande attrazione del Villaggio è stato il simulatore di guida con la possibilità di testare le condizioni di guida con pneumatici sottogonfiati. E sull’importanza del gonfiaggio degli pneumatici si è focalizzata la sezione ‘Più Aria meno Carburante’ dove gli automobilisti hanno avuto la possibilità di controllare la pressione dei propri pneumatici.
