Allison Transmission e Officine Brennero presentano i nuovi veicoli a metano
Il 21 marzo scorso, la concessionaria Iveco di Verona e Allison Transmission hanno dedicato l’inizio della primavera ai veicoli CNG (Compressed Natural Gas), i più verdi sul mercato.
All’evento, che si è tenuto a Verona nella nuova sede di Officine Brennero, hanno partecipato 60 clienti, la maggior parte dei quali rappresentanti delle multiutilities di Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Trentino, Friuli Venezia Giulia e Lombardia. Due i modelli CNG con cambi Allison messi a disposizione: uno Stralis allestito con compattatore di rifiuti, di proprietà di Amia di Verona, e un Eurocargo, pensato per le missioni urbane come la raccolta rifiuti e la distribuzione. Presenti inoltre i ‘Supereroi’ di casa Iveco: un Daily a metano e un Daily elettrico, che hanno incuriosito e riscosso un grande interesse.
Federico Gaiazzi, amministratore delegato di Officine Brennero ha aperto l’evento ricordando l’impegno di Iveco e del gruppo Fiat Industrial sul fronte ambientale, impegno condiviso da Allison Transmission. In questo senso, Iveco ha ampliato l’offerta delle motorizzazioni a metano omologate EEV, tra le più ecologiche sul mercato. L’abbinamento ai cambi completamente automatici Allison consente di sfruttare al meglio questo carburante alternativo, meno scattante allo spunto, grazie al convertitore integrato che moltiplica la coppia e trasferisce la potenza alle ruote in maniera continua e dolce, assicurando prestazioni e produttività al massimo livello, anche con coppie motore ridotte.
Presenti le principali multiutilities del Nord del Paese, molte delle quali già clienti Allison.
“Abbiamo diversi Eurocargo e Stralis con cambi Allison – afferma Massimo Carini, responsabile della manutenzione della Iren di Piacenza, che nelle province di Parma, Piacenza e Reggio Emilia, gestisce oltre 5.600 chilometri di rete del gas ed effettua i servizi di igiene ambientale per 112 comuni -. Li abbiamo acquistati nel 2000 e il ritorno è stato ottimo. Gli autisti sono meno stanchi a fine giornata, non dovendosi preoccupare di cambiare marcia e anche più produttivi. Inoltre, non dobbiamo più pensare all’usura della frizione, che sui veicoli con cambio manuale sostituiamo in media ogni 50.000/60.000 km”.
Anche Mirco Mazzon, del gruppo Veritas di Venezia, ha una storia da raccontare “Vent’anni fa siamo stati tra i primi a pensare alla raccolta dei rifiuti con carica laterale e a capire che questa nuova tecnica andava abbinata alla tecnologia più all’avanguardia sul mercato: i cambi completamente automatici di Allison, montati sui veicoli Iveco”.
Dopo aver provato di persona lo Stralis, Pierluigi Marchetti, di Servizi Comunali SpA, la cooperativa che si occupa della raccolta rifiuti di 52 comuni nella provincia di Bergamo, racconta: “Abbiamo in flotta molti Stralis e ci troviamo bene. L’abbinamento con l’Allison ci interessa particolarmente. Di recente abbiamo acquistato uno Stralis a tre assi con cambio Allison e devo ammettere che quando manca qualche autista e si deve dare una mano, lascio l’ufficio e vado a prendere quello. E’ più manovrabile, più semplice da guidare. Riguardo ai costi, li stiamo valutando attentamente, dato che con i cambi manuali in media ogni anno dobbiamo sostituire le frizioni, e ogni due anni il cambio, e i costi sono molto elevati”.
