I blindati Iveco alla parata militare sulla Piazza Rossa di Mosca
E’ un veicolo impiegato per supportare le forze armate impegnate in missioni internazionali di peace-keeping. Si tratta dell’Iveco LMV, Light MultiroleVehicle (Veicolo Leggero Multiruolo),denominato “Lince” dall’esercito italiano e “Panther” da quello inglese. Ed è, soprattutto un veicolo che ha partecipato ad un evento storico: i veicoli blindati Iveco, infatti, hanno sfilato nella grande parata militare sulla Piazza Rossa di Mosca per celebrare i 67 anni dalla vittoria russa nella Seconda Guerra Mondiale. E’ la prima volta che alla parata militare in onore della vittoria sul nazifascismo, che si tiene nella più grande e famosa piazza di Mosca, hanno partecipato dei veicoli blindati stranieri. L’Iveco LMV è un mezzo blindato leggero di nuova generazione, nato dall’idea di creare un veicolo con la mobilità di unfuoristrada e la protezione di un blindato. La partecipazione allo storico evento di Mosca è frutto dell’accordo che Iveco DefenceVehicles ha firmato lo scorso giugno per lo sviluppo di una joint venture industriale in Russia con Oboronservis, azienda controllata dal Ministero della Difesa russo, al fine di localizzare progressivamente la produzione di una speciale versione di LMV, appositamente sviluppata per questo mercato. Attualmente Iveco sta completando la produzione dei primi 100 veicoli, con l’obiettivo di portare la produzione nell’ordine dei 300/500 veicoli l’anno. L’LMV, progettato e costruito dall’Iveco Defence Vehicles di Bolzano, si avvale di sofisticate tecnologie i cui punti di forza sono la grande mobilità e affidabilità nonché la protezione anti-mina, come è stato più volte provato nelle diverse missioni in cui è stato impiegato. Ad oggi ne sono stati venduti 3000 pezzi a dieci Stati europei. (P.C.)
