Logistica: a Milano distribuzione urbana in bicicletta
Inaugurata una nuova sede GLS a Milano. La particolarità è la sua posizione centrale, a meno di tre chilometri dal duomo. Da qui il corriere espresso può raggiungere clienti e destinatari nell’Area C esclusivamente con mezzi di trasporto ecologici.

È un servizio a zero emissioni quello fornito dai 12 veicoli elettrici e dalle 8 biciclette elettriche a pedalata assistita che circolano nella zona a traffico limitato del centro città. “Per recapitare le spedizioni scegliamo preferibilmente le soluzioni più ecologiche – spiega Klaus Schädle, amministratore delegato di GLS Italy -. Per questo abbiamo pensato di creare una Sede in centro città, in modo da smistare le spedizioni urbane piccole e leggere e consegnarle rapidamente con mezzi ecologici”.
La nuova sede può gestire circa 2.000 spedizioni al giorno, è dotata di un’ecologica illuminazione a LED e offre anche un servizio aggiuntivo: il DepotPickupService, ossia il fermo deposito, che permette ai destinatari di prelevare le loro spedizioni in centro città, anche di sabato mattina.
GLS Italy utilizza le biciclette per le consegne nel centro di Milano già dal 2013. Anche a Vicenza, Bergamo, Bolzano e Torino gli addetti alle consegne circolano abitualmente su due ruote.
